Tue Aug 5th - hanging out / bbq / campfire
Today we had to move the ‘condo’ as someone had reserved
our site 103 for the next two nights. We are staying on until Friday so we
moved down two sites...all very confusing reservation system. However as we
have no sewer at these sites it was time to do a dump anyway. Much finagling
and careful maneuvering to get to the dump spot, but all well. Move and set up
completed we walked into Alma (including descending the 119 stairs to the road
below) Wandered around and decided to grab a bite at the Tides restaurant
patio. Fried clams and chowder! Good but not great. Walked back up the steps
and read for a bit before BBQ’ing the steak from the farmers market, which
together with the purple beans and new garden potatoes was a feast. We joined
the campfire with the folks from Sussex, New Brunswick, and had a great time. A
few more people from around the site joined in with roasting marshmallows and
weenies. One of the guys (from South
Carolina) had built an ingenious canine carrier to tow along behind his Harley…
Derek had a close look at it. very impressive!!
The huge Yellow Lab apparently loves being in it.
